Your story starts with a decision.
Grimoire RPG is a solo roleplaying game in your browser. Play your own character or become the game master for a party of AI characters. Both modes save your adventures in your account. Grimoire is currently in beta.
Player mode: you act, AI narrates
Create a player adventure with a world, character and language in your account. Write what your character says or attempts, for example: “I ask the innkeeper about the abandoned tower.” Send your turn and wait for the story. AI describes reactions and consequences; you choose your character’s actions.
Game master mode: lead an AI party
Create a game master session and configure your characters. Describe a scene, choose the characters who should respond, then send your announcement. Each selected AI produces a separate, paid response. For a private hint, select only that character. You decide the world, rules and events.
Learn directly inside the game
Open Help in player mode or Tutorial in game master mode. The basics highlight the input, cost display and important buttons. You can exit at any time. The optional advanced tour explains world updates, characters, maps and saving.
AI companions and background world updates
In player mode, activate individual NPCs as AI companions under Characters. They receive their own instructions and propose actions for the narrator to incorporate. A character outside the scene may pass. These extra AI calls also cost Runes. Background tasks update memories and world state; events outside your view do not automatically become your character’s knowledge.
Adventure book, maps and notes
The adventure book collects a readable recap. The map shows known destinations, places you have heard about and places you have visited. A known location need not have been visited. It is an orientation aid, not a surveyed floor plan. Add personal notes to locations. The game master map is an editable board for your party.
Runes and personal API keys
Runes are shared credit for both modes. Longer context, more powerful models, multiple AI characters, images and voice functions can increase usage. A pre-turn estimate is not a price guarantee. Player mode’s usage view includes background tasks. Personal API keys are billed by the provider; AI use is not free with your own key.
Saving, errors and invitations
Wait for saving to be confirmed before switching devices. Avoid editing one session on two devices at once. Retry an individual failed game master response using its retry button. Find your invitation link and reward rules in your account. Rewards require actual play and spending purchased Runes; combat is not required.
